I’ve been playing patriotic songs since yesterday. I have a playlist on my Ipod with Taps as the last piece. I’m bored doing nothing. Enjoy your weekend!

The bugle only has to hit the first note for me to tear up, so I understand, Kris and appreciate all your son is doing. Please shake his hand for me.

He’s not in the Army anymore, but I do thank you for him. (I’ve not seen him in quite a while. A couple of years!)

I know you can feel each word as I do. If you would like to have your father in the Farewell Salutes, please send the info and it would be my honor.

I told Koji I had spent hours looking at videos for our Memorial Day and POOF – he had it all along! 🙂

This was done so well, with sincere reverence. Although probably not good for me to view this weekend : the son in law, affectionately known as Boofhead, has been given a weeks notice and will be heading o/s in a few days. Seventh tour. The parent within feels sick as a dog, though we continue to smile graciously and beam with pride. Thank you for sharing.

May God go with him. No one should be on their 7th tour. My thoughts will be with him and your family this weekend.

I attended John David Gillespie’s funeral yesterday. He was 93-year-old Marine and served in both WW II and the Korean War. During the Korean War, he served as Lt. John Glenn’s crew chief.

It is obvious you know and understand what Koji and I am doing our best to relate here. My sympathies to you and his family. The world lost a good man!

Thank you. Would you like Mr. Gillespie in the Farewell Salutes? If yes, please give me his info as you see it in previous ones. They all deserve recognition.

Whether it is Memorial Day or Remembrance Day the soldier who died in the fight for freedom should always have a place in our hearts any day of the year.

Exactly, Peter. The specific day doesn’t even matter, it is a feeling that should be with us year round. Thank you for coming by, I can always count on your support!

Now I need my snot-rag as my Dad used to say. And thank you for your service, GP.

Not my service, Tom, I am merely a hidden narrator in all this. But I do pass things on to those who did serve. I appreciate you repecting the troops and here’s some Puffs for you….
