U.S. MEMORIAL DAY
“Taps” Please take a moment for them before you begin your holiday.
“Hymn To The Fallen” Support the troops.
Not every country holds Memorial Day on this date, many are in November when we hold our Veteran’s Day, and I’m certain you have your own ceremonies to display gratitude to your troops. Shake the hand of a veteran today!

Occasionally it’s hard to read your posts gp.
The glasses fog up and a lot of thoughts rush through my mind.
Cheers.

I understand, Ian. If it gets to close – stop, no problem.
For those that were there, few words are necessary. For those that weren’t there, there are not enough words.

I showed your blog to my family when I was visiting them over Memorial Day. They enjoyed it, and were both a little surprised and touched that a blogger would be posting about our military history. Of course, they don’t roam around the internet the way a lot of us do, but now they’re more interested than they have been. Even though I’m late, thanks from me, too.

I appreciate you showing the blog to your family. I hope you also told them that your father’s sheet stamps with be in with my collection that has been promised to go to the National Museum of WWII in New Orleans. I have them framed and an explanation attached as to how I acquired them.

Always a time to stop and say thank you, G. And it goes back a long time. I always include a couple of my uncles with lots of greats in front of their names. They died at Fort Mifflin during the Revolutionary War. On another note, my dad’s Birthday was on the original Memorial Day. He was always disgusted when they changed it to create a three day holiday. As of today, he would be a 114 if he were still alive. –Curt

That is a very important task I know. We started our hurricane procedures. We all have something to contend with – I’m just glad mine isn’t a volcano!!

It’s kind of like ‘pick your own natural disaster,’ G. I assume homes can be built that are almost hurricane-proof. But how do you contend with flowing lava. It’s pretty much get out of the way. –Curt

A wonderful and beautiful tribute. I’ve fallen behind in my postings but my prayers and sentiments are always there. How grateful we all should be. ❤
