Always a pleasure to be reminded of the US Marine Corps Birthday, it also reminds one of the elite specialty of the Corp, and its contribution in Americas Military history.

Happy Birthday to the Marines. And tomorrow we have Armistice Day/Remembrance Day so a time to think of all those who have fought for us.

So true. IMO, if we spend time thanking those that gave us our freedoms, there would be no time for protesting, ranting, looting and shooting!.

I’m afraid my writing in other languages is from Google Translate. As much as I’ve tried, I’ve never been able to master another language.

Hap Hap Happy Birthday to the USMC! 242! Wow!
We are ever grateful and appreciative of your men and women and their service!
I used to live by Camp Pendleton. I started a social group for the wives and children. It was fun and they loved the “mom” attention from me, and the making of friends of new friends, since so many of them were far from their families.
HUGS!!! 🙂

Thank you for sharing this story, it was very nice of you. I’m certain both the Marines and their families appreciated all the “Mom” attention you could give!! Being family-orientated, I think you’ll like the Veterans Day post I have planned!!

My nephew (deceased) was a Gunnery Sergeant in the Corps. Wounded three separate times in Viet Nam and still stayed with his squad. He was a tough one bless his soul.

Sir, I hope that you don’t mind but I would like to reblog this for you. If you can will you answer a question for me? I see that this article does not have a reblog button but it does have a “press this” button, do you know what the difference is? Why does post have one but not the other? I am very lousy with computers, I have very limited knowledge when it comes to how to do different things on them.

Thank you. My dad and husband (both Marines) have always said that every Marine has two birthdays – the day they were born and the day the Corps was born

Greetings to the USMC on their special day — and greetings to you, with thanks for both of those funny, funny cartoons. I grew up in the era when the “sticks and stones” phrase passed as parental advice in certain situations, so it’s especially amusing to me.

My mother used to use that line, ‘sticks and stones’ so often, I think it’s embedded in my scull somewhere! haha
