I realize it was a lot of film and didn’t really expect everyone to to be able to view it all. But even skimming by fast-forwarding gives the viewer an idea, right? Being as this part of the war came and went in history as barely a foot-note, I wanted the information here in the site. Thank you for your time, Derrick.

It amazes me that so many photos and actual films are available from WWII. Glad that someone kept this priceless information.

The more I researched the cameramen and Signal Corps, the more I knew that bits and pieces of many battles had to be out there. I’m certain new pictures will always continue to emerge from long lost attics, government archives and museum basements long after we’re gone.

It just hit me what progress we have made. Those old records of battles and events were left as pictures on walls in caves or on stones. Now we have real pictures or films. May they live on for a long time.

I’ll have to save these for later but the first cartoon made me stop and think about the number of special occasions our soldiers miss while on duty. I’ll try to remember to be thankful for that.

The memoirs I am currently posting will reveal the kind of stories you wrote about your father. Stories seldom found in history books. You have to read between the lines.

The films give some idea of the numbers (and difficulties) involved in this campaign. It was nice to see and hear the recollections of the Liberator pilot too.
