  2. Hope you had a great day. Enjoyed listening to the national anthem, which is a great one even to a non American, like me. Also enjoyed the Red Skelton video.

  3. I watched the Macy’s Fireworks on TV tonight and was in awe. Not of the fireworks, but of all those people being happy and patriotic with song after song about America. They closed by singing “God Bless America” and everyone was singing along. Makes you feel that peace is out there.

    • I watched part of it as well – 25 solid minutes of fireworks bursting from the river, the NYC skyline in the background, the military band and singing sergeants; even Mr. Lundgren, head of Macy’s, was looking amazed. They did a tremendous job!

  4. Good point about fireworks triggering PTSD in troops, who have served. I always worry about pets but not people. (Feeling sort of sheepish right about now!!!) Everytime I visit your blog, I learn something new historical fact or become aware, of what those who serve endure. I’d say you are pretty darn cool!

    • I know hoe rapid fireworks sound. I know kids enjoy them, but they have no idea what happens, especially if you wake up a veteran with that rapid, repeating pop. I’m very glad you enjoyed the post, Mrs P.
