You sure have been busy reading, Ian – do the posts tend to become monotonous? [I do have a tendency to drone on sometimes, try to rein myself in and then make the stories too short – can’t seem to find that medium area I want].

No, not monotonous gp, far from it, keep up your great work, I get behind in answering peoples comments and reading their posts, but I never delete their posts from my email, especially those who comment on my efforts as opposed to the Like clickers, keep it going mate, cheers.

Military Appreciation Month, eh? I’m already working on my Memorial Day post, and I’ve got another one kicking around in my brain. Will look at the calendar – if I can’t manage the second one this month, I’ll stretch my appreciation into June (since I never ever stop appreciating!)

That wouldn’t be bad – 6 June – D-Day; then 21 June – Flag Day and 25 June – start of Korean War. You could create a year-long appreciation if you wanted to!!!

I saw a young man outside our grocery today in uniform collecting for the wounded. I think he was quite surprised when I asked to shake his hand. We owe them BIG.

Raising the flag at Iwo jima (hope that’s right) has to be the most iconic photo for me

The first raising is to me, but not the planned one. And the flag was raised with so much fighting left to do. I don’t mean to be a wet blanket here, the image and statue mean a lot to many people, I just think it should have been done when the island was secure. Thanks for commenting, feral – and for being so loyal to Pacific Paratrooper!
