Got to love those Canadians, to tolerate their weather takes guts.
Plus the fact that my wife was born in Canada and lived in the Yukon.
A country I have yet to visit, old age permitting.
Cheers gp

I’ve only been there once, but it was a lovely springtime. I suppose they are proof of – whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!?! Thanks for visiting, Ian.

Unusually cold weather in Southern Florida, GP? Did it drop to 70? 🙂

Actually 47*! I’ve seen it colder – but not for quite awhile. The past few years have been warm winters – and believe it or not – it gets monotonous!! Every year I beg for relief from the 95* summer and finally we are having a good one.

Well, I’m a “poor soul” living in Canada (transplanted from Northern Ireland); and I can tell you for sure… I HATE our weather today – 44 C BELOW in Ottawa! I’d rather be anywhere else as long as it’s warm! 😉

I thought it was appropriate, but I am still kicking myself for missing NZ’s treaty day – I could have sworn I had that on my calender! When is the next NZ commemorative day [outside of ANZAC – I know I have that covered]?

Mmm…. I think Anzac Day may be the only important one. And particularly important this year because it is 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing.

I thought so, especially this year while the eastern coast is being bombarded with Arctic air! One of those – you gotta laugh to keep from cryin’ sort of times.

I almost didn’t add that one – I wasn’t quite certain how the Canadians would like it, but we all need to laugh at ourselves once in a while, eh?

Grinning ear to ear as you feature Canada today. The cartoons are hilarious. those poor souls in eastern Canada are getting so much snow while we in the west have unusually warm temperatures.

We are having unusually colder weather here in So. FL and I’m Lovin’ It!!! A very welcome change. I do remember what a blizzard can be like though – BUT – what they’re going through is outrageous!! Thanks for coming, hope you had a great day.

I can’t complain myself. Every summer I DO complain about the constant 90-100*F temps – I asked for the weather in the 40’s and I’m enjoying it. Of course this is nothing like what the NE part of the country is getting!

I lived near the American Canadian border in Northern New York. Many fond memories of trips into Canada. In fact my wife and I went this summer. Great people and a great country. Also much of my Mother’s family came from Canada. Also they do have a great looking flag.

Quick mention for ‘Johnny’ Johnson last surviving British Dambuster, aged 92, still campaigning for official recognition for that famous bomb run.. Below is for August last year.

Outstanding link from the Daily Mail, thank you very much. The Dambusters are a very famous group and should have had recognition all along!! I’m going to have to pass this on to others.

Not too long ago, I ran across a movie on TV called “The Dam Busters”. Released in 1955, the movie tells their story. Before seeing the movie, I was not aware of them.
