How to Fold an American Flag
Civilians – mostly all innocent – become the victims when leaders fail in their job. This is a sound example. Thanks for the link, gpcox.

No problem, Koji, just glad you liked the story!

Interesting story, ironic that the great old hotels become a place of refuge in war, the same happened in Vietnam.

I imagine they had the best of everything in them – made it great for the Brass, hospitals and barracks, eh?

This took me instantly to a book I found on my father’s shelves, Through Japanese Barbed Wire by Gwen Priestwood. The book was published in 1944 because Gwen escaped from a civilian prison camp in Hong Kong and walked through China to freedom. It’s quite a story.

My pleasure, Amelia. I have been holding onto the post’s address since I first read it. So many of us associate 7 December with Pearl Harbor and forget how much of the rest of the Pacific exploded that day (8 Dec. over there). I have a wonderful group of friends here, a regular community who like history, discussion and, of course, they have a sense of humor – try out their sites!!

Wow, that had to been terrifying hearing them get that close. Good thing that her mom had that dream and yelled. So glad they were able to make it out.

That is for sure. We don’t leave till the 25th for WI. We are using this time to get caught up on current orders so that when we leave we don’t have any waiting to be shipped.
