SEEMS WE DON’T SAY IT ENOUGH – SO, I’M TRYING TO FIX THAT RIGHT HERE – GOD BLESS THE USA!!!

We can rant, we can complain and we can thank the troops for giving us the right to do so!  Today we celebrate our country’s birthday, traditional BBQ’s, fireworks, family and friends, we have a day off and have a ball!  – and to who do we owe it all?  You guessed it_____

God Bless Our Troops

 THE SOLDIER’S POEM

When this is over
And we come home again,
Forget the band
And cheers from the stand;
Just have the things
Well in hand –
The things we fought for.
UNDERSTAND?

Under foreign skies and tropical heat.
Only a sailor on the rolling deep,

  8. A lovely, fun and informative post. As always we must keep in mind why we celebrate this day and the sacrifices made for our liberty and freedom from the beginning to the present. I just saw a short video on FB of a gentlemen “interviewing” people on the street about Independence Day. He was as amazed and disgusted as most of us watching with how many people have no clue about why we celebrate the 4th of July, what it stands for, when the Declaration was signed and who we gained freedom from. Amazing is such a lame term in this situation. The govt is doing a great job of destroying the patriotism in this country and dumbing down so many of the youth. Sorry, I didn’t mean to rant. Have a blessed and safe holiday, Gail! GOD BLESS AMERICA! 🙂

    • You come here and rant all you want, Linda. It is your opinion on matters and those of our fellow citizens that matters to me. We DO have the right to say WHAT we want – NOT what we are TOLD to say. I don’t even expect everyone who comes here to agree with me – so be it. The only comments I have ever trashed, were ones that the person requested to be deleted (usually because personal info was involved). I’m thrilled that you enjoyed the post – coming from you – that means a great deal!! Thank you. 😉

  27. You said it so well! I felt bad, that at present, it seems our soldiers are NOT coming home to find everything ‘well in hand’ but in utter states of scandal, chaos, or dismal disrepair — specifically with regard to the deplorable and unacceptable health care system they are forced to depend on (VA). Bad enough they can’t get the jobs they need and deserve when they get back to life as a civilian! Those 2 things alone cause me to feel such shame as an American. Never mind the other things which are taking place here and abroad!
    We need to get our priorities in order stateside, and quick!
    Have a great 4th, Gp.
