More: Murphy’s Laws of Combat

ANNA WENT AND FOUND MORE LAWS – Have a fun weekend and enjoy!

Maiden on the Midway

Here are some additional  “Laws” I found via Google image search. There’s a page missing and I’ve noticed a few repeats from my first post of Murphy’s Laws of Combat along with quite a few new ones. Enjoy!

  1. really great list – and when I was a little girl – maybe 9 – I had a navy blue shirt with murphy’s law on it – and I used to wear it and talk to people about it – seems cheesy now – but it was my favorite t-shirt at the time – ha! and this post reminded me of it – but this post also was awesome because I never heard of murphy’s law of combat and I am printing this out to share with some guys that I know would enjoy it and they are not online that much (if ever).

anyhow, great list -and most of them I “get” – ha!

  2. My favorite among many: “If it is stupid and it works; it isn’t stupid”.

    Thanks for posting!

  3. Great collection of military sayings, just imagine if we could remember all of it and use it all.
We would end up being super soldiers, in amongst it all there is surely a few that every soldier could relate to.

  5. Never do a sloppy job on the fox hole. Make it deeper than regulations. I will allow you to speculate on all the laws that will occur if you do not.

  6. I don’t know whether to laugh hysterically or be solemn. I’m sure those “things” happened frequently… 😉

    • I’m sure they did happen – and quite often, but to keep sane, the men looked on the humorous side of the situation I suppose. Or maybe, like so many other events – they were funny after the fact and retold.

      • I watched “Emperor” last night…about MacArthur. On their approach to Atsugi, I was thinking about your pop. Truly. 🙂

        • Thanks Koji. When MacArthur’s got there, General Swing and dad were already there in Japan setting up that hanger as a CP and creating a perimeter. I used to search those reels as a kid looking for Smitty, but he said he doubted he would ever be seen. When he saw a photographer, he went the other way – just in case something happened, he didn’t want his mother to see it in a news reel. But thanks so much for remembering that he was one of the first.

  7. Terrific. Allcrazy and all true. We had a song in OCS:” Here lie the bones of Lt Jones, who attended this fine institution. He died on the night of his first firefight, because he followed the schoool solution.

  10. Another great batch. Pity some of the ends with punchlines got cut off (that is another Murphy’s Law?).
