  3. My Uncle was an officer with a map. He led his group 9 miles in the wrong direction (behind enemy lines) by accident. Ooops! 😉

    • He didn’t happen to be in the 11th Airborne, did he? Smitty had an officer get his unit lost on New Guinea. That would be quite the coincidence – wouldn’t it?! Thanks for stopping in, Mary.

  11. gp, I really appreciate this re “humor in Uniform” as Readers Digest still calls it!!! I am trying to find my way to introduce the fact that despite the great sacrifice of some 58,000 dead in the Vietnam War, naturally, there were the moments of laughter. I want to do a few from my Vietnam service…..maybe a serious intro & then a humorous episode. I have a few in mind! Maybe call it, “My Vietnam: 1970.” Thanks for all re my latest post, “”Repair & Replace”!!!!!! Comments, Likes, etc. I responded there as you know! Phil
