  4. Thanks to Everett Smith for his service and thanks to you for faithfully making this high quality blog available to the world. Remembering is not something everyone does well; we are too fast paced to know what good qualities were earned before us.

  12. Awww. Happy (belated, darn it!) Thanksgiving, to you my dear historian friend! I am thankful for your friendship and the great blog you produce which is history as history should have been printed for us when we were all in school. No wonder Rush Limbaugh has taken to calling school “screw-el”, for heaven’s sakes! We must have the truth if it is to be something we learn our mistakes from…for this honesty I salute you sir! Thank you.
I hope you had a fine holiday with those things and people that matter most.

    • Thank you, Bev. I re-did the post 3 times and the pictures and words would not coordinate in the preview the way they looked on my dashboard – it drove me crazy. I’m just glad you enjoyed it.

  14. I shared those pictures at dinner (which meant we didn’t have time for our Healthcare Discussion. Darn). What fun.

    • I think it’s good to have a Thanksgiving Day – no matter what country or religion – we ALL have at least one thing to be grateful for – so say with family. (I know the cat isn’t from the ’50’s era, but I couldn’t resist a little humor.)
